Ở phần trước, thầy và các bạn đã phân tích về quy chế thi, đề bài và dàn ý phân tích từng dạng ở IELTS Writing Task 1. Do đó ở phần 2 này, cùng thầy tìm hiểu sâu với chủ đề các từ vựng nên dùng.
WRITING 1.0.1 – NHỮNG ĐIỀU BẠN NHẤT ĐỊNH PHẢI BIẾT VỀ IELTS WRITING TASK 1
Từ vựng chiếm 25% số điểm trong thang điểm phần thi IELTS Writing, cũng chính vì điều đó các bạn nên tận dụng đẩy mạnh sự phong phú vốn từ vựng bằng cách sử dụng từ đồng nghĩa, cụm từ, tránh lặp từ nhiều lần.
Ví dụ:
- Grow (v): tăng trưởng.
Thí sinh có thể thay thế bằng: rise, rocketed, go up, upsurge, uplift, increase, climb, soar, increase…
- Increase dramatically = a dramatic increase: tăng trưởng nhanh chóng.
Ngoài ra, các bạn cần lưu ý đến những chi tiết như:

Chính vì những điều đó, trong bài viết này, thầy sẽ hướng dẫn các bạn cách paraphrasing cho từng dạng bài trong IELTS Writing Task 1 và gợi ý những cụm từ có thể sử dụng nhằm giúp bạn đạt band điểm cao nhất cho phần thi này.

Từ vựng dùng để miêu tả phương hướng
Thí sinh có thể tưởng tượng đến các hướng của la bàn, bao gồm 4 hướng chính: North – East – West – South (viết tắt là N – E – W – S).
Ngoài ra còn có các hướng đi kết hợp theo góc chéo nhau, ví dụ như North-west, South-west, …
Hoặc thí sinh có thể kết hợp cùng các từ vựng đơn giản như left side, right side, far, close, upper part, …
Ví dụ:
- The owner has built a small pond close to the water fountain toward the north of the garden, and also transformed the shrubs into seasonal flowering plants.
- The hospital’s front office has been enlarged by 10.4 metres compared to 1991.
Giới từ
Giới từ (preposition) cũng là một điểm từ vựng quan trọng vì giúp xác định miêu tả vị trí của đối tượng mà các bạn đang đề cập đến.
Các giới từ thường được dùng trong bài IELTS Writing Task 1 bao gồm: on, next to, near, from … to …, by, across from, nearby, beside, between, over, along, …
Ví dụ:
- Over a four-year span, canned tuna sales increased from 251,000 cans to 473,000 cans.
- The proportion of motorcycle imports stood at 54,000 in 2003.

Dạng bài này hầu hết đều không có quá nhiều từ vựng phức tạp mà chủ yếu tập trung đến các từ nối quan trọng như:
